The Octagon is home to Unitarians from Christian, Earth-Spirit, Humanist and Atheist backgrounds, amongst others, and each finds a welcome and a safe environment in which to explore and share their faith.
Unitarianism has its roots in the Christian tradition, and many modern Unitarians are proud to call themselves Christian. Others affirm their beliefs in other mainstream religions, or in none.
We have a respect for, and an interest in, the beliefs of others, and in widening and challenging our own. We are open to change, to challenge and to respectful dissent.
There is a wealth of useful material on the web giving an outline of the Unitarian faith. A good starting point is www.unitarian.org.uk, the main website of British Unitarians. The website has good links, including one to a publication called "Unitarian? What's That?".
